Overview

Jharkhand Government (Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Cooperative Department) invites applications to fill 07 posts of Crop Protector (फसल रक्षक) on honorarium/contract basis for Plant Protection Centres across Sahibganj district. Selected candidates will work at specified PPCs (listed in the notification) and will be engaged on a monthly remuneration of Rs. 11,851 for one year or until regular appointment, whichever is earlier.

Eligibility (as per the official notification)

Minimum matric (10th) pass from a recognized board and a minimum 5‑day training from the Agriculture/Horticulture Directorate (Agriculture & Horticulture Directorate) are mandatory; knowledge of the local language, ability to ride a bicycle and climb trees are required; preference to residents of the relevant Plant Protection Centre/prakhand. (Qualifying criteria only — no merit marks for language or practical ability.)

Exam Pattern

  • Merit list — Educational qualification — Weighting of academic marks: 10th percentage × 0.5 (maximum 50); 12th percentage × 0.1 (maximum 10); Graduate percentage × 0.1 (maximum 10). (Conversion formula to be used if CGPA/grade.) — Maximum 70
  • Merit list — Training — Training: Minimum one 5‑day training mandatory (first five days = 15 marks). Additional training days awarded 1 mark per extra day (up to an additional 15 marks). — Maximum 30

Physical / Skill / Computer Test

  • Cycling capability: Qualifying criterion — candidate must be able to ride a bicycle; the selection committee may conduct a practical test after preliminary merit list. No merit marks; failure may cause disqualification.
  • Tree‑climbing capability: Qualifying criterion — candidate must be able to climb trees; the selection committee may conduct a practical test after preliminary merit list. No merit marks; failure may cause disqualification.

Preparation Strategy

  • Ensure certified proof of minimum 5‑day training from the Agriculture/Horticulture Directorate and collect any additional training certificates (each extra training day gives marks).
  • Confirm and, if needed, obtain clear marksheets for 10th/12th/graduate to maximise weighted percentage (10th has highest weight).
  • Keep valid local resident and local language certificates ready (language is qualifying) and self‑attested photocopies of all documents as listed in the notification.
  • Be prepared for a practical check of cycling and tree‑climbing ability (these are qualifying — practise and bring any related proof if available).
