1. Medical Physics Basics: Principles of Physics: General Physics, Classical Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism. Radiation Physics: Properties of X-rays, Gamma rays, and other ionizing radiations; Radiation interactions with matter. Radiation Dosimetry: Dose calculation, units of radiation, and radiation measurement techniques. Radiation Protection: Biological effects of ionizing radiation, radiation shielding, and safety standards. 2. Imaging Techniques: Medical Imaging Techniques: X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and PET scans. Image Processing: Basics of image reconstruction and enhancement. Radiation Therapy: Principles and equipment (linear accelerators, brachytherapy, etc.), treatment planning, and dose distribution. 3. Radiotherapy Physics: External Beam Therapy: Principles of radiation therapy, treatment machines (linear accelerators), and their operation. Brachytherapy: Types of brachytherapy, physics of radioactive sources. Treatment Planning: Contouring, dose prescription, and dose-volume histograms (DVH). 4. Radiation Safety and Protection: Radiation Regulations: National and international safety standards and guidelines (ICRP, NCRP, AERB). Radiation Monitoring: Use of radiation survey meters, dosimeters, and safety equipment. Environmental Radiation: Background radiation, contamination control. 5. Advanced Topics (for Senior Medical Physicist): Advanced Radiation Therapy Techniques: IMRT, VMAT, SBRT. Radiation Oncology: Clinical applications, treatment protocols, and patient care in radiotherapy. Research and Development: Current trends in medical physics research.
