Exam Syllabus

1. Anatomy and Physiology: Knowledge of human anatomy, including skeletal, muscular, respiratory, cardiovascular, nervous, and other systems. Understanding of physiology, including the functioning of various body systems and their interactions. 2. Radiographic Physics: Principles of radiographic physics, including X-ray production, interactions of radiation with matter, and radiation safety. Knowledge of equipment used in radiography, such as X-ray machines, CT scanners, and MRI machines. 3. Radiographic Techniques: Positioning and immobilization techniques for various parts of the body. Proper techniques for obtaining high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing patient discomfort and radiation exposure. 4. Radiographic Pathology: Understanding of common diseases, injuries, and abnormalities that may be identified through radiographic imaging. Recognition of pathological conditions in radiographic images and understanding their implications for patient care. 5. Radiation Protection and Safety: Knowledge of radiation safety procedures for both patients and healthcare workers. Understanding of principles of radiation protection and methods for minimizing radiation exposure. 6. Patient Care and Communication: Interpersonal skills and communication techniques for interacting with patients during radiographic procedures. Understanding of patient care techniques, including infection control, patient assessment, and patient education. 7. Medical Terminology: Vocabulary related to anatomy, physiology, pathology, and radiography. Understanding of medical abbreviations and terminology used in healthcare settings. 8. Professional Ethics and Legal Issues: Ethical principles and professional standards for radiographers. Knowledge of legal issues related to patient confidentiality, informed consent, and professional liability. 9. Quality Assurance and Image Evaluation: Understanding of quality assurance procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of radiographic images. Ability to evaluate radiographic images for technical quality and diagnostic usefulness. 10. Current Trends and Developments in Radiography: Awareness of emerging technologies and advancements in the field of radiography. Knowledge of current trends, research findings, and best practices in radiographic imaging.
