📘 High Court of Orissa Junior Stenographer 2025 – Exam Syllabus & Pattern 🔹 Selection Process The selection is likely to be conducted in the following stages: Qualifying Test in English (Written Test) Computer Application Test Skill Test – Shorthand and Typewriting Viva Voce 📝 Stage 1: Qualifying English Test (Written) Marks: 100 Duration: 90 Minutes Type: Descriptive (Pen and Paper Mode) Syllabus: Essay Writing (on general topics) – 30 Marks Precis Writing – 20 Marks Translation: From Odia to English – 25 Marks From English to Odia – 25 Marks Objective: To test basic English comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills. 💻 Stage 2: Computer Application Test Marks: 100 Duration: 1 Hour Syllabus: Basic computer operations MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Internet usage & email File handling Typing Test (Speed & Accuracy) Note: This round may include practical-based tasks like typing a document, formatting it, using formulas in Excel, etc. ✍️ Stage 3: Skill Test (Shorthand & Typewriting) Qualifying in nature Requirements: Shorthand: 80 words per minute (wpm) Typewriting: 40 words per minute (wpm) Note: Candidates will be dictated a passage for transcription. Accuracy and speed will be tested. 🎤 Stage 4: Viva Voce Marks: 20 Purpose: To assess communication skills, personality, general awareness, and suitability for the post. 📌 Key Preparation Tips: Practice shorthand and typing daily using real-time dictation tools. Improve essay writing and translation skills – read English & Odia newspapers. Study basic computer applications thoroughly. Refer to previous years’ question papers if available.
